Behind the success of the watchmaking company Art de Suisse lies several generations of family, but above all, Mehmet Kazazi, who in 1865 adopted the new surname – Sahatciu, meaning "Watchmaker."
About the Company
From this moment on, Mehmet Sahatciu tirelessly worked to create a brand that would embody his values for future generations. The result of his lifelong dedication was not only exquisitely crafted quality watches but also much more – it was a dynasty of skilled artisans from across Kosovo.
Our father, Bayram Sahatciu, became an active member of the family business in 1951, when he was just 8 years old. He learned the art of watchmaking by observing his father, who imparted to his son the same knowledge he had gained from his own father nearly a century ago.
At the age of 16, Bayram Sahatciu, the first in his family, received an education in horology. To this day, he is one of the most respected and finest watchmakers in the Southeast.
In the late 1970s, due to the war conflict in the Balkans, the Sahatciu family had to partially distance themselves from the watchmaking industry and transition to the production of luxury jewelry. However, part of the family continued to focus exclusively on watchmaking.
Our long journey in the world of watchmaking has been accompanied by ups and downs, but we have always remained true to our roots and traditions. Our passion for this art and our commitment to becoming the very best in our chosen field have largely driven us and brought us to the world-renowned spa town of Karlovy Vary, where our boutiques are now located and where we have the opportunity to continue passing down our family craft to the younger generation – our children.
